Gearbox Software is well-known for occasionally attending PAX East events to announce their next new game, as seen with Borderlands 3, or to showcase previously revealed content. For PAX East 2025, Gearbox will be hosting a “Main Theater Show” and it’s going to feature Borderlands 4 and Risk of Rain.
The Gearbox PAX East panel will be hosted at the Main Theater Room at the Boston Convention Center on Friday, May 9, starting at 1 PM to 2 PM ET.

Here is what the description says for the panel via the official PAX East website:
Gearbox is back at PAX East! The Risk of Rain 2 team shares updates on Seekers of the Storm—plus a surprise! We will welcome Randy Pitchford and Borderlands 4 developers to the stage to talk about the newest installment in the franchise.
Earlier this week, Randy Pitchford announced that Borderlands 4’s release date was moved up to September 12, 2025, 11 days ahead of its original release. He stated that it has nothing to do with any other potential game releases and is 100% due to the fact that the development is going extremely smoothly.
2K Games will have a busy showing at PAX East because Hangar 13 will also be there on May 8 hosting a panel for Mafia: The Old Country. They are expected to showcase more gameplay and announce its already leaked release date.
