Discover everything you need to know about all Crafting Kits in Hollow Knight Silksong, including how to acquire them.

Crafting Kit in Hollow Knight Silksong is an upgrade item that enhances how strong your Tools are. The effect is automatic after obtaining the Crafting Kit. You don’t have to use it or activate it manually, as it just improves the Tools. The game offers multiple Crafting Kits that are located in different locations.
Purchase the first one from a vendor called the Forge Daughter in Deep Docks for 180 Rosaries. The other one is obtained by completing the Crawbug Clearing Wish in Greymoor. Make sure you’ve enough Rosaries to purchase them from the specific merchants. In this guide, we’ll discuss how to get all Crafting Kits, including some useful tips.
What is the Crafting Kit in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Crafting Kit in Hollow Knight Silksong is used to boost the Tool Damage after acquiring the item. This is an automatic process, so you don’t need to activate anything. There are a total of four distinct Crafting Kits in the game, and four levels of your tool damage.
Open the inventory menu after getting the Crafting Kit to see the effect. You can also highlight the Tool Pouch & Crafting Kit item in your inventory after acquiring the Crafting Kit. Look at the item description, it says, “Crafting by claw alone produces inferior results. With this kit, you can craft finer, sharper, and deadlier tools… if that is your wish.”
Crafting Kit #1 (Deep Docks)

You can get the first crafting kit after unlocking the Silkspear and entering the Deep Docks. From the Belllway Station, move up and to the east. After passing through a single small chamber, you can see a sign pointing towards a bench and a lever. Hit it to access the corresponding chamber. To unlock the bench and the nearby merchant NPC, ride a lift down.
Go into the eastern chamber, defeating a series of enemies there. Once that is done, jump up the platforms into the previously locked-off area. There is a bench to rest at to the west, and the Forge Daughter NPC to the east. The Forge Daughter sells you the first Crafting Kit for 180 Rosaries.
Crafting Kit #2 (Greymoor)

To get the second crafting kit, you need to have first unlocked the Drifter’s Cloak ability. After that, use it to make your way into Greymoor. The quest for it, Crawbug Clearing, can be started at the Halfway Home location by speaking to Creige a few times until he asks about it. Make sure he mentions that you need to collect the Crawbug Ragpelts.
The best place to get your 25 Ragpelts is far to the east of Halfway Home, which you can reach by just running east until you get there. If it’s your first time here, go into the nearby structure. Working your way down, then up and east, you will enter an arena where multiple waves of Crawbugs must be defeated. This includes plenty of Tallcraws and squatcraws, which each drop multiple Ragpelts when defeated.
After defeating them all, you can bounce up and smack the lever to raise multiple balloons outside. This allows you to access the upper regions of this area. There are plenty more crawbugs to defeat throughout it. You can always go rest and then return to have them respawn if needed. Once you’ve 25 Crawbug Ragpelts, you can return to Creige at Halfway Home to turn them in. Doing so will complete the quest and get your second Crafting Kit.
Crafting Kit #3 (The Underworks)

The third Crafting Kit requires you to have unlocked the Clawline ability, which is in Act 2. Doing so will place you right next to where the kit is purchased. Start from the nearest fast travel point, which is the Underworks Ventrica Station. From there, move east, through a tube, and then up and further east.
Next to the main bench for this location is a ring that you can Clawline. After that, jump from there to reach the Architect NPC. The Architect sells various items, including a Crafting Kit for 450 Rosaries.
Crafting Kit #4 (Blasted Steps)
The last Crafting Kit is the most out of the way and also requires the most Rosaries to purchase. It also requires the final Traversal Ability of Act 2, the Faydown Cloak.
Get Inside Blasted Steps

Once you have those, make your way to the Bellway station in Blasted Steps. Start by moving west, all the way along the bottom of Shellwood, going up where necessary to proceed. You will likely stop at the bench near the Sister Splinter boss along the way. After that, continue down and to the West. If you see a bench sign pointing west, you are on the right track.
Now, just west of where you enter the Blasted Steps is a bench that you can purchase. From that bench, you will move back out east and then up the nearby vertical shaft. Using your traversal abilities, you can easily reach the top. Here, you should first move east to ring the big bell and unlock a shortcut to the Shellwood Bellway Station.

Move west to reach the entrance of Blasted Steps. Just after you run beneath a few falling rocks, wall climb your way up a tube, and then move east. This will bring us to another bench that may not be necessary.
Reach Blasted Steps Bellway Station

From here, traverse up and to the west before eventually switching directions to the east to reach the next chamber. Double Jump and the Clawline both make this task a lot easier, and you can probably skip sections.
- Watch out for the raging storm, which will blow you towards the east if you are using the hover ability.
- Also, don’t fall into the sands, as doing so will result in two points of damage.
The next chamber is very quick to get through, as you just need to move east and jump over a gap. This will bring you to the chamber where Shakra is found. You can purchase the map for the Blasted Steps from him. After that, move up and to the west once again.
The enemies in this area, the Driznits in particular, can be a real pain to deal with. Once you’ve made it to the western chamber, you are nearly there. To the west is a lever, hit to open a shortcut. Move up to the top of this chamber, and then go west once more to reach the Bellway Station for Blasted Steps.
Find Grindle Merchant

Unlock the Bellway Station first, so that you can return here more easily. This is where the double jump comes into play. From the Bellway Station, move west into the next chamber. You can then platform your way up and to the west, going into the chamber with the musical sign outside of it.
To reach the Shop NPC Grindle here, double jump up into the tube, then wall climb the rest of the way up. He will sell you the 4th and final Crafting Kit for 700 Rosaries.
