Insider Points To New Doom Project, Expected Reveal At Upcoming Xbox Games Showcase

Came the release of Doom Eternal, Rectify Gaming during its review for the game said “Doom Eternal is not just more Doom. It’s a tougher, more sophisticated take on the franchise and wisely avoids the number 2. Doom Eternal takes some risks, but they pay off in spectacular fashion.” And looking forward, players are eager to see how a third game would shape up from id Software.

In one previous report, it was revealed that the developer was deeply interested in integrating a female lead for a future title. What’s more was a job listing pointing towards a new game. Part of the hiring post indicated work on a new game is present with the application asking for extended knowledge on the IP.

Now ahead of the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase set for June, there is a chance a new game will be revealed. According to Tom Warren of The Verge, he hints a new project is prepared for an announcement. “Microsoft will be banking on some new game announcements lifting the Doom around Xbox,” he wrote. Of course, more on the matter has also surfaced as well.

Elsewhere in a new trademark filing, Zenimax/Bethesda filed a new trademark for ‘IDKFA’. For those unseasoned Doom players, the phrase is a very common cheat code used in the Doom series. Additionally, Eurogamer has went on to corroborate Warren’s hinting that the game is expecting a reveal at the approaching Xbox presentation.

As for other titles to be showcased at the livestreamed press conference, insiders point towards Gears 6 being announced. Additional details also suggest Perfect Dark is also in a presentable state for a proper reveal at the show as well more recently. You can read the full report by heading here.
