
Initially centered around entertainment media like film and television, Ember Labs announces its first stretch as a video game developer with Kena: Bridge of Spirits. However, while the team has an already-established background in commercials/film, Ember Labs COO Josh Grier shares the founding of the company was in spirit of the love for video games that him and his brother shares.
With that, the team went to create the fan-made film, Majora’s Mask: Terrible Fate. Now, Ember Labs next ambitious project is a unique project with help from the capabilities of the next-generation platform underway.

Grieg explains the coming title to being “a story-driven action adventure set in a charming world rich with exploration and fast-paced combat. Players find and grow a team of tiny spirit companions called the Rot, enhancing their abilities and creating new ways to manipulate the environment.
“Working with the support of Sony and the next-generation features of the PS5 gave us the opportunity to expand the immersive experience we envisioned and enhance the game’s unique play mechanics.” At the end of the trailer, Sony shares that Kena: Bridge of Spirits will be shipping first to PlayStation 5 as a limited time, console exclusive. Alongside with a PC release to arrive at the same time, Xbox Series X owners will have to be patient to play the new title.
