Over the last month, Bungie has begun promoting its new Extraction Shooter, Marathon, and held a closed beta a few weeks ago for select players. Now, there is a little bit of a controversy at the PlayStation Studio after an artist, ANTIREAL, accused Bungle of ripping off her work from 2017.
On Friday, Bungie held a livestream for Marathon and addressed the situation along with the mixed feedback from the Alpha. It was Joseph Cross, Art Director for Marathon, admitting the designs from ANTIREAL.

According to Forbes and their sources, the morale at Bungie is in “free fall” across the entire company, and “the vibes have never been worse”. The outlet also reports that Marathon could see a delay from its planned September 23 release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC.
While Bungie and Sony are dealing with this situation legally, they have not mentioned anything officially about a delay. Forbes says “those conversations are happening privately between higher up Sony and Bungie leadership,” regarding a delay.
Given the low morale at Bungie, a delay for Marathon’s release might be beneficial.
It was already announced that Marathon will not be a free-to-play game and will also not be a full priced game. Expectations are that the Extraction Shooter will cost around $30 to $40.
