Hot on the heels of the announcement that two new Xbox consoles are in development, it is now being rumoured that Xbox and PC are going to converge.
Project Helix, the reported codename for this convergence, is a huge push for the company. Developers recently told Kotaku that, “Microsoft’s new mandate is to release future games, including the flagship Xbox franchise Halo, on both platforms.”
Although nothing has been officially announced from Microsoft, certain games are already being developed for both platforms. Halo Wars 2, Sea of Thieves and the now cancelled Fables Legends have been announced to be in development for both platforms. What’s more Forza developer, Turn 10, has also announced that all future titles will be developed for both consoles. With all of the recent rumours being released and reported it looks like Microsoft’s E3 briefing is going to be highly interesting.
