Despite nearly a full year since the release of Minecraft Dungeons, developer Mojang Studios still supports the title with new content entering 2021. Back in late February, the game studio introduced the ‘Flames of the Nether’ expansion for the game. As perceived from the title of the add-on, players can explore the depths of the Nether as unique mobs of the world target the player and other explorers.

Additionally, Minecraft Dungeons while introduced as a conventional video game is getting a retro rework. In that, Mojang Studios upon collaborating with Play Mechanix announced to be bringing an arcade cabinet version of the game to reality. The most interesting part of the project is translating the experience to the format for players to balance exploration with the arcade machine mojo.

In a new announcement on Wednesday, Mojang Studios announced a new feature coming to Minecraft Dungeons, cloud saves.

The time has come for a new game update to Minecraft Dungeons. This time around, we’re introducing one of the most requested features… Cloud Saves! Wait, what do clouds have to do with my save files? Oh, I’m being told “the cloud” is a fancy term for the internet. Who would have thought?

To make a long story short, the Cloud Save feature allows you to save your cross-platform progress so you can pick up and play your save from any supported device. As someone who regularly plays games across PC and consoles, I believe it’s safe to say we’re all excited to be able to play as our best Heroes regardless of where we want to play.

Already, Minecraft Dungeons supports cross-platform play. But, cross-save integration was told to be on hold until more details can arise. Months later the game studio finally shipped the feature and players across devices can hop from one console to the next and bring their save progress with them.

Regarding Minecraft Dungeons recently, a report from Windows Central reveals that the game proves to be a key component for Xbox Game Pass/xCloud’s reach to a broader audience. In that, touch control support is more of an necessity for the large percentage of players that experienced Minecraft Dungeons solely through that control configuration.
