Since officially released back in 2014, Scrolls has been the lesser known title from the Minecraft developer. And just announced that the game will be available for anyone to play and it comes with a new name.
A post was made on the game’s site of the newly titled game ‘Caller’s Bane’. Stated in the post by Måns Olson:

We’ve got a new name – “Caller’s Bane”. I’m sure there’s a good reason for it. Perhaps we just didn’t like the sound of “Scrolls”. Either way, it’s still the same game you’ve known and loved.

Previously during the game’s release, Scrolls ran into legal trouble as the name showed a similarity to Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls franchise resulting with Zenimax suing Mojang. And later leaving the Swedish studio to abandon the trademark on their game as both settled this outside of court.
Since 2015, Scrolls has been under wraps as Microsoft made the decision to have the latest update for the game its last. As of then other digital card games have emerged like Blizzard’s Harthstone Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls Legends it will be interesting to see how this relaunch will work for Mojang and Microsoft especially.
Caller’s Bane is available to download for free on the game’s website.
