At Warner Bros. Games, the gaming division has steadily restructured its ambitions to follow a pre-established footpath by its leadership. In that, the firm is to pursue four major IPs: DC Comics, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and Mortal Kombat. Recently, word broke out of a potential acquisition by Sony Interactive Entertainment. But, the PlayStation firm denounced the claim being a possibility.

As for internal changes that happened at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, part of its restructuring includes select efforts being shelved. One was the highly-anticipated Wonder Woman title. Alongside the game itself, the team behind it – Monolith Productions – was also shuttered in the crossfire. Additionally, games for both The Flash & Constantine were also disregarded as well in a separate report.

The past few weeks, reports emerged on a new home for the greater Warner Bros. company: Netflix. On Friday, it was officially announced that the streaming conglomerate & Warner Bros. has found common ground to proceed with the deal costing roughly $82.7 billion. Part of the deal is to also include efforts in Warner Bros.’ video game division also.

“Today’s announcement combines two of the greatest storytelling companies in the world to bring to even more people the entertainment they love to watch the most. For more than a century, Warner Bros. has thrilled audiences, captured the world’s attention, and shaped our culture. By coming together with Netflix, we will ensure people everywhere will continue to enjoy the world’s most resonant stories for generations to come,” CEO David Zaslav said in a statement.

Alongside the new purchase by the Stranger Things, Squid Games company, Netflix recently sold off some of its talent in the gaming sphere too. Back in 2022, Netflix acquired Spry Fox. But in a new report from GameFile, Netflix has sold back the firm to the original founders. You can read the full report by heading here.
