Despite the precedent set by Sony Interactive Entertainment for nearly four console generations, the PlayStation company is transitioning to opening up its franchises to new platforms. While it is certain we will never see these franchises hit Xbox – except for MLB The Show – PC is the new aim for PlayStation to establish a standing in.
So far, four games in total shipped to PC after being PlayStation 4 exclusives: Detroit: Become Human, Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding, and Days Gone. But, 2022 is set to offer more for keyboard & mouse players. In the schedule for next year, both God of War and Uncharted 4 is also slated to hit the platform.
And with more said to be planned for the transition, there is a new update that could potentially highlight which game is next for the initiative. From Gematsu on Twitter, Sony Interactive Entertainment trademarked the 2015 release, The Order: 1886.
From the document, The Order: 1886 is described as “Downloadable video game software.” What suggests this finding to be for PC can corroborate with a previous statement by Sucker Punch Productions writer Jordan Lemos that denounced plans for a follow-up game after stating plans for the game. That alongside the ongoing path the PlayStation firm has set for PC, it appears to be the most likely to happen.
Additionally, developer Ready at Dawn is in no position to develop a new The Order title. Namely, that is due to the team being fully acquired by Facebook previously. Now, the team is a dedicated developer for Oculus headsets now. You can read the full report by heading here.
Are you hoping The Order: 1886 is coming to PC?
The Order: 1886 is currently out now for PlayStation 4; available via backwards compatibility on PlayStation 5.
