Developer Niantic, the studio behind the ever so popular Pokémon Go revealed a new initiative to implement safe precautions for daily fans of the augmented reality title. While the game does insist that players explore the world to catch new Pokémon, Niantic shared the addition of Remote Raid Passes to combat the social distancing enforced by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In a new blog post this week, Niantic shares that when the Remote Raid Pass debuts for Pokémon Go, players will deal the exact amount of damage as trainers participating at the raid physically. However, over time the damage dealt will be reduced slightly and later followed with a dramatic reduction later on assuming when the outbreak has been squandered by then.
The team goes on to share that only twenty trainers literally at the raid can participate alongside a certain number of Remote Raid Pass holders will be able to join as well. Niantic tells that Remote Raid Passes will run for 100 PokéCoins when they arrive alongside a special 1 PokéCoin bundle for a certain time.
Additional perks with the new feature is the ability to earn one Field Research task without having to leave your home. Instead of having to tap PokéStop, the game will gift one each day you play instead. On the topic of PokéStops, Niantic shares that your Pokémon will travel to said locations to return gifts from the respected PokéStop. This encounter will go into effect as you run low on gifts on your profile.
Even more, Candies alongside Stardust is also said to be receiving a boost to help players level up Pokémon during the trying times from the pandemic. Incense, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces are also issued extended duration went in effect once the update goes live, Niantic declares.
