Nintendo has just announced that registration for their new multi-platform account system is live. Nintendo Accounts can be registered for using a Nintendo Network ID, Facebook, Google+, or Twitter account. While signing up for an account is relatively simple, the account is not particularly useful as of this point. In March, Nintendo plans for the account to be compatible with the upcoming rewards program, My Nintendo, alongside its first smart device social app, Miitomo, for which pre-registration is now live at http://miitomo.com/en.
Nintendo’s first cross-platform accounts are free, and breaking into the realm dominated by XBOX Live and PlayStation Plus is sure to be a solid move for the future of the company. You can sign up at http://accounts.nintendo.com.
