After the reveal of The Walking Dead at this year’s PC Gaming Show at E3, fans were concerned by the games performance with animation, audio and combat mechanics. With hoping that the game would be delayed to soften up on the rough edges that was previewed during its announcement, it seems that might be happening after all, but only for consoles.
Starbreeze Studios, the development team behind both console versions has announced that both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 fans will have to wait into 2019 for Overkill’s The Walking Dead.
According to the studio, 505 Games is making the call for this delay as the company owns the publishing rights to the console versions. Making a statement regarding the decision:
505 Games, which owns the publishing rights to the console version of Overkill’s The Walking Dead, has decided to release the console version of the game in February instead of November, as previously planned. They have opted to do this because they want to ensure a simultaneous release of the console version digitally and in stores to achieve optimal marketing impact and maximize sales.
The Walking Dead will still be coming to PC on November 6, 2018. But for Sony and Microsoft’s platforms, will have to wait until February 2019 as a precise release date wasn’t mentioned in the financial report.
