Earlier this year, Paramount Pictures and Activision revealed that there would be a Call of Duty movie coming to theaters in the future. On Thursday, the companies announced who the writers, director, and producers are for the Call of Duty film, which includes Peter Berg.
Who is directing the Call of Duty movie?
Peter Berg is set to write, direct, and produce the Call of Duty movie. His background includes being the founder of Film 44, Film 47, and co-founder of Brighton Maintenance. He created and produced Emmy-nominated series Friday Night Lights and directed Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day. Berg also directed Painkiller and American Primeval on Netflix, which became a #1 global series.
Paramount also announced that Taylor Sheridan will write and produce the Call of Duty film. Both Berg and Sheridan had previous collaborations that included Hell or High Water, which has gotten four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Screenplay.
Lastly, David Glasser is going to produce the Call of Duty movie.
Call of Duty has been the #1 best-selling video game series in the United States for 16 straight years, with over 500 million copies sold worldwide. There is an expectation that a movie based on the game will do well whenever it comes to theaters.
