The lineage thus far for the PlayStation 5 Pro remains to be a hot topic since its reveal just a brief month ago. And with the hardware’s planned release coming this November, more & more surrounding the platform will determine if spending $699 is a worthy price this far into the console generation. But with new hardware comes new packaging for the latest SKU in the PlayStation 5 lineup.
Previously, Rectify Gaming did acquire first hands-on for the updated PlayStation 5 Slim before its retail release which revealed the size reduction for the packaging. Additionally, Sony Interactive Entertainment also issued its own updated packaging for PlayStation VR 2 titles. For instance, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution was the first to unveil what physical copies for the new headset will be.
Now with November just days away, photographs for the PlayStation 5 Pro are rolling out with some online getting hands-on with the new console. In Japan, GAME Watch was sent a PlayStation 5 Pro and has shared images of the new console which you can vie in the X post below:
What’s more, images for video game cases of PlayStation 5 Pro-compatible titles are also being posted online as well. X user @Zuby_Tech shared a picture for ‘Empire of the Ants’ which shares that PlayStation will be using a simple label instead of an entirely new packaging. “PS5 Pro | Enhanced,” the sticker reads. “‘PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced’ features very by game. Internet connection required to download update.”
While Microsoft is not issuing a mid-generation refresh, the Xbox firm did revamp its game packaging in 2024. Earlier this summer, titles Kena: Bridge of Spirits & Clock Tower Rewind both featured the first instance of the new design for Xbox Series X titles. You can read the full report by heading here.
