When it comes to the current PlayStation business model, Sony is restructuring some of the initial plans that its had for its gaming division. After half a decade of support on PC, its newest titles coming – Ghost of Yotei & Saros – will not expect PC versions alike prior first-party releases. A follow-up report said that the plans for this move were swayed by the sales of these games coming multiple months after initial launch on console.
Additionally, the PlayStation firm has recently shuttered more talent under the PlayStation Studios umbrella. In March last month, it was understood that the PlayStation firm shuttered Dark Outlaw Games – a new effort spearheaded by former Call of Duty Zombies developer Jason Blundell. More notorious is the closure of Bluepoint Studios which has been recognized to ship impressive titles for the PlayStation library.

It was revealed via a press release from Sony Interactive Entertainment that Cinemersive Labs will be acquired by PlayStation. In the document, it emphasizes on the team’s short lifespan, but impressive talent on machine learning.

Today, we are pleased to announce that SIE has entered into an agreement to acquire Cinemersive Labs, a UK-based machine learning and computer vision company.”
The press release continues: “Founded in 2022, Cinemersive Labs brings together a specialized team with deep expertise in computer vision and machine learning. Following the acquisition, the Cinemersive Labs team will join SIE’s Visual Computing Group (VCG) and contribute to our broader efforts in advancing state of the art visual computing within games.
