Over at Netflix, the platform has shared a desire to bring more gaming content to its platform – that is no secret. And among the properties it established on its subscription with original programming, it also has a strong footing with Pokémon also featuring over a handful of the animated shows. That also includes the 3D-animated remake ’Pokémon Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution’ which aired exclusively on Netflix upon release.
Netflix is to also carry on this relationship with The Pokémon Company through the means of a live-action television series. Previously reported by Variety, it is to attach Lucifer showrunner & executive producer Joe Henderson. But currently, Netflix this week is preparing the runway for the arrival of Pokémon Concierge which airs today on Netflix.
Pokémon Concierge releases with a complete first season offering four episodes with a 20-minute runtime each. You can watch the official trailer in the video below:
“Welcome to Pokémon Resort, a peaceful getaway for Pokémon to relax and have fun. Which guest will the new concierge Haru befriend and help first?” Netflix’s description reads for the new show. “Set at a resort for Pokémon on a southern island, this is the story of a new concierge named Haru, who gradually discovers herself as she and her fellow staff members scramble to attend to the various Pokémon guests,” the YouTube description elaborates further.
As for other news in gaming releases regarding Netflix & Pokémon, there are still plans for a Beyond Good & Evil film. What connects this production to Pokémon is that Detective Pikachu director Rob Letterman is to take the role for the Ubisoft adaptation. You can read the full report by heading here.
