What appeared to be a shoe-in for developer Typhoon Studios has turned into a complete rebrand in the end. Back in 2019, the Canadian game studio was acquired by Google as an effort for the first-party studios at Stadia. However, with the fallout of the cloud streaming platform, so did the developer. As a response to the turn of events, the team had to make a new home.
And by 2021, Typhoon Games was then retitled to Raccoon Logic. Along with the new name, the Montreal game studio also acquired to rights for the Journey to the Savage Planet IP. With its new home back in the indie game sector, Raccoon Logic also nodded to a new game for the property as well. “We’re super excited to continue the work we started at Typhoon Studios,” studio head Reid Schneider said then.

“In a future knocked off its axis by corporate greed and stupidity, you have been made redundant and abandoned on the far edge of space with little gear and no safety net.
