Epic Games’ most popular battle royale and virtually most played title in their entire repertoire of games Fortnite continues to receive constant updates alongside daily cosmetic additions for the game’s respected Item Shop. In the mid of constant game adjustments and weapon balancing, there are niché features that do make their way to the game either through developer’s input or fan requests.

This I’m speaking of is local split-screen support: in the latest Version 11.30 for the game, players on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 now have the ability to play online with a couch-sitting friend. Despite the feature’s public debut on the two major systems, the implementation is, however, still being tested as support for other platforms have yet to be dispersed as of yet.

To use the feature, you simply log into the game and select either Duos or Squads when prompted in the main menu. Following, just connect a second controller and hit the respected button to sign-in and you’re ready to play. Of course, Solos is not an option as players could use this feature to then cheat their way into achieving a Victory Royale.

Including cross-platform play between the bevy of supported platforms, this is a fine addition that Epic Games has included to Fortnite. Although the team has yet to disclose a set date for more systems to receive the feature, those on Nintendo Switch and PC will have to wait as current testers continue to report the bugs to make the next update better for your addition later on.

In the younger Version 11.31 update for Fortnite, Epic Games added a new feature which allows players to create their own game mode with Battle Lab. You can read the full report by heading over to the article above.

Have you tried out split-screen for Fortnite?

Fortnite is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
