Resident evil requiem wrenwood walkthrough

Discover everything you need to know about the Wrenwood walkthrough in Resident Evil Requiem, including how to progress in it.

Wrenwood is an opening area of Resident Evil Requiem where you investigate the crime scene and progress in the Wrenwood Hotel. It starts in the Wrenwood city streets and quickly leads you inside the building.

This is the first area where the main investigation and flashback sequences take place. You learn basic game mechanics, item interaction, and solve the puzzle box. While progressing, you can obtain collectibles like the Investigation Report, Wrenwood City Guide, Hotel Pamphlet, and more.

Head Inside the Hotel

After the intro cutscenes, walk down the street toward the Wrenwood Hotel. Pick up the Investigation Report and Wrenwood City Guide.

Head inside the alleyway and head to the back entrance of the hotel. Items you collect are automatically added to your inventory, and some unlock future objectives.

You play as Grace right after the cutscene ends and keep moving on the linear path inside the hotel.

Investigate the Crime Scene

Investigating crime scene

Once you cover enough distance, you come across the dark corridor with the door. You need to find a key or code to pass through the door, as it’s already unlocked. Get inside the room and hit the d-pad to turn on the flashlight and continue progressing.

Clues

The next thing you know is that you’re in a kitchen, so search all the drawers and cabinets to find something useful. Wait for the scene to end and read the Investigation Report by following the prompt. This report describes what happens to the hotel and a crime that you need to investigate.

Make sure to search the toilet in the bathroom and a table at the back of the room. Get the photo from the pillar at the bar to obtain the key for room 204.

Get Inside Room 204

Getting to room 204

You need to use the key in the room near the bar. Make your way to the hallway and continue moving till you find a Hotel Pamphlet. Continue moving in a straight direction and go to the left side. Approach the first door you come across and get inside the room.

exploring first floor

Move to the backside of the blue desk and interact with the drawer to open it up. Collect the Notice of Closure from the drawer and the Wrenwood Hotel Floor Plan from one of the walls. You can use the floor plan to make your navigation easier.

getting wire cutters

Take the stairs to move up and enter the big room on the second floor. Approach the pool table from the left side and pick up the Wire Cutter. Move to the right side to approach the exit door, which is locked by the wires. Keep moving straight to find two doors on your left side locked with wire.

Unlocking locked door

That’s where you need to use the Wire Cutter to unlock the door and get inside Room 204.

Turn off the radio after moving inside this room and collect pictures from the bed, allowing you to trigger the cutscene.

Flashback & Escape Sequence

You get a flashback to eight years ago, showcasing Grace and Alyssa trying to escape from the hotel. You need to keep following Alyssa downstairs till you encounter the manager. This person feels sorry that there’s no power in the hotel.

Alyssa Ashcroft

Just at the moment, an unknown entity holding the plastic bag cut his throat. Alyssa tries to shoot this entity and put a file on the backside of the environmental painting. Keep following her to escape from this hotel, triggering another cutscene.

It showcases that the same entity kill the Alyssa and set the entire room on fire. Once the cutscene ends, you’re back to the present.

Escape through the Emergency Exit

Getting hidden document

Afterward, interact with objects in the real Lobby to get Alyssa’s Journal and a Disk Drive. Move the trolley in front of the painting to obtain what Alyssa hides. The Disk Drive is Alyssa’s journal, which you will use later in the game. After reading the journal, you’ll be attacked by an infected police officer.

Victor

Complete the quick-time evasion and attack prompt to get free. Keep holding the X button on the console and move left or right to free yourself. After getting free, pick up the Emergency Exit Key from the floor and use it upstairs on the appropriate door. This allows you to finish the Grace portion of Wrenwood.

The final section puts you in control of Leon S. Kennedy on the streets. Continue following the path forward and defeat the enemies with your weapon to trigger the last cutscene.

Hi, I’m Ali. I started gaming with Max Payne, and it set the tone for my interest in darker, more immersive experiences. I mostly play soulslikes, RPGs, and FPS titles that focus on tight mechanics and pacing.

I have a strong appreciation for game soundtracks and how they shape the overall experience. I’m also a long-time horror fan, across both games and films, with a preference for atmosphere-driven storytelling. This space reflects that passion, exploring games through both their mechanics and the atmosphere they create.
