EasySMX is back with another new controller and this time it’s compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and Mobile devices. It does look like how the controller is marketed, it’s preferred to be used on the Switch platform.

Previously, we reviewed the EasySMX X20 Multiplatform Gaming Controller, which was designed a little differently.

Right away, from when you open the box, you are given a bunch of different items aside from the controller. The EasySMX S10 comes with 2 Magnetic Faceplates, 1 Detachable Circular D-pad, 1 Detachable Cross-shaped D-pad, 1 Type-C Data Cable, and 2 DIY Stickers.

The S10 comes in Midnight or in White, while both feature RGB when it’s activated.

For the price, you are given other cosmetic and customization options.

Performance

The EasySMX S10 comes with Advanced HD Rumble so you can feel every hit, crash, and explosion. From my time using this controller on the Switch 2, the HD Rumble is neat, but I do think it makes too much noise when it’s shaking the controller.

The Upgraded Mecha Buttons are a positive for this controller. For me, I like to know I hit a certain button, and with the tactile-like buttons, the S10 definitely achieves that need. All of the buttons have quick responses from the moment you hit them.

The TMR Sticks on this controller come with a solid 1000Hz polling rate in wired and 125Hz in Bluetooth. I would say even using it wirelessly on my Nintendo Switch 2, I felt it was very responsive. For someone who prefers playing this way, I thought it was a good fit.

Luckily, I have not experienced stick drift, but the life of the controller is still young.

It’s also worth noting that since it works on Switch 2, it features the C button, Home button, and Capture button, all located towards the bottom. There are also two programmable buttons on the back, similar to those found on any other third-party controller or the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

Comfortability

Holding the EasySMX S10 Controller, I noticed it does come with rubberized grips on both ends, which try to provide a comfortable experience. This is where the negatives come in for this EasySMX controller.

The way it’s built doesn’t feel like what you would consider a $60 controller. The way it feels overall and how it makes noises when the HD Rumble is activated show the imperfections of what could be a solid controller.

I wouldn’t say it’s the most comfortable controller. It’s likely better for gamers who have smaller hands because the overall build is smaller than the other controller we tried from the same company.

Should You Buy The EasySMX S10 Controller?

Overall, the EasySMX S10 Gaming Controller is not worth its $60 price tag. Personally, I expected a more premium experience, such as the option for custom software to map my buttons. I would recommend considering a purchase only if you find it on sale for around $30 or $40. While it is not a bad controller by any means, I suggest exploring other options before making a decision.

I’ve had experiences where the swappable D-Pad would come off easily while playing a game. The design of the D-Pad could have been better. The A, B, X, and Y buttons and the thumbsticks are perfect. However, there are a few qualities that hold the S10 back.
