The Nintendo Switch 2 is not even six months old, and we are already getting unique accessories from third-party manufacturers. iMP Gaming has released the Mini Arcade Pro. This product will turn your Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 into a retro arcade system.
As seen in the image, it’s set up like a fightstick, and that is actually the “wired controller” when you plug the Switch tablet into it.
At first, I won’t lie, I was nervous about using this with my brand new Nintendo Switch 2. Questions I had for myself were, will this damage the USB-C port on my console? The answer is no. I’ve used this for a couple of weeks now, and it will do no damage to your Switch.

As shown in the image above, I find this to be perfect for the Nintendo Switch Online library of classic games from the NES all the way to the Sega Genesis. I played Streets of Rage, for example, and the iMP Mini Arcade Pro turned it into a more authentic experience.
The Arcade Mini Pro controller has a fast response to the console. I was originally concerned about whether there would be a large delay using it, but there is none at all. You can comfortably play modern games as well. I played Street Fighter 6 online and found myself having more of an advantage as opposed to using a Switch Pro Controller.
The overall controller has all the buttons you would see on a Switch 2 controller. It includes the C button, select, start, triggers, and everything else you would expect, aside from a Capture button.
Building the iMP Arcade Mini Pro is very simple. It comes with basic instructions to build the retro arcade setup. The only feature I did not use or find a use for is the game cartridge holder to put your games. In my honest opinion, I don’t have any use for doing that as I feel games or SD Cards on there could get easily lost in my situation. Lastly, it’s a durable setup; you don’t worry about anything breaking, so don’t worry about being too rough on it.

If you don’t have a Nintendo Switch 2, no worries, as the Mini Arcade Pro comes with two cases. One that fits the Switch and Switch OLED, with the other being for the Switch 2.
Final Thoughts
The iMP Gaming Mini Arcade Pro is a neat accessory for the Nintendo Switch that brings nostalgia to the table. If you are looking to gift someone something unique this holiday, the Mini Arcade Pro might be what you need.
It’s essentially just a controller you are purchasing. It doesn’t provide anything different to your console aside from that. A big selling point is that it looks like an old arcade cabinet, and that it’s an inexpensive way to get a fight stick.
