The Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored to release in early 2025 and it will likely cost $399.99 this time around. There have been questions about whether the new Nintendo console will support Joy-Cons from the original Switch since they are expensive controllers to begin with. A new report claims the Switch 2 will feature magnetic Joy-Cons.

According to media outlet Vandal, the Nintendo Switch 2 will have magnetic Joy-Cons this time around instead of using the rail system they are currently using. This comes from accessory manufacturers who have been able to see the new Nintendo console.

The outlet also reports that the current Nintendo Switch Pro controllers will be compatible with the Switch 2. But it seems unlikely the current Joy-Cons will work with it.

Last Summer, it was reported that Nintendo held a behind-closed-doors meeting at Gamescom 2023 showcasing Zelda: Breath of The Wild in 4K 60 FPS. Development kits have already been reported to be in the hands of key partner studios as of Summer 2023.
