Sega Schedules Sonic Central Presentation For Tuesday June 7th

If many can recall from last year, publisher Sega went on to celebrate more than 30 years of Sonic the Hedgehog. Rather than one bombastic announcement, Sega instead went on to host the first ever Sonic Central – a new presentation on all things regarding the firm’s most popular mascot. At the time, we learned on the plans underway for the blue blur including upcoming release.

Among those, one happened to be Sonic Origins. The compilation of 2D titles welcomes the original entries on the Sega Genesis with a layer of remastering for new and returning audiences. Atop of that, the firm teased the first glimpse at the newest Sonic the Hedgehog title. It was not until this past December we learned the title to be Sonic Frontiers with a scheduled release window for holiday 2022.

This week, Sega shared that Sonic Central will be taking place this year and its the following day. Yes, Sonic Central will be held on Tuesday June 7th.

In regards to what the firm will unveil, it is likely we will learn of the official release date for the upcoming Sonic Frontiers. For those that paid attention over at IGN, the outlet has uploaded first glimpse footage of the new release. However, an estimated launch date has yet to be released despite gameplay being presented this month.

Other hopes is more information on the entertainment spectrum of Sonic the Hedgehog. Recently, Netflix gave a first glimpse at Sonic Prime which is said to air later this year.
