Shenmue 3 has started full scale development

Many fans hope to see something about Shenmue 3 at PlayStation Experience 2016, but the show came and went without word of Yu Suzuki’s long-awaited sequel.  However, the former SEGA man has provided an update on the upcoming project and has said that the title will be entering full-scale production imminently.
“Development is entering the final stage headed towards full-scale production. Early in the New Year, I think we’ll be able to show you things such as new videos. We will continue progressing with development so that our backers and those who experience the world of Shenmue for the first time can do so with pleasure.”
Shenmue III smashed Kickstarter records about 18 months ago, but we haven’t heard anything since. Hopefully this gets fans of the series excited for the future.
