
People Can Fly and Sony Interactive Entertainment have announced they came into an agreement regarding the production of a prototype of a new game, codenamed “Project Delta.” Which is based on an IP that belongs to Sony.
The developer will collaborate on a work-for-hire basis, meaning that People Can Fly will serve as a developer for Sony Interactive Entertainment, the publisher, and in exchange, they will receive agreed compensation from Sony.
No additional details were disclosed, except that the work on the game prototype will be divided into stages. The developer mentioned that the scope and terms of the agreement are largely consistent with the typical production agreements used for projects of this nature.
People Can Fly Also Working With Microsoft
What’s interesting about this partner ship is that People Can Fly also revealed this year they’ll be assisting with Gears of War: E-Day. The Coalition is the main developer of the next Gears game however, People Can Fly will be assisting in development.
It’s also worth noting that People Can Fly led the development of Gears of War: Judgment and co-developed the Gears of War trilogy.
Recent leaks also showed that PlayStation is experimenting with AI character rendering by using Horizon’s Aloy. Sony has not shared any information regarding this leak. It’s no secret that all major game publishers and developers are looking into AI to assist in development.
