For the majority of 2020 as we have witnessed, Microsoft has been very liberal with sparing new details of its coming Xbox Series X as we continue to learn more about the next-generation system practically on a monthly basis. However, in contrast with Sony, the firm has been very limited on what we can know about its approaching PlayStation 5. But despite that, the firm has told to be preparing to showcase the coming hardware.

When speaking with Bloomberg back in April, Sony told the outlet that the company will be looking to hosting a press conference or event to showcase the newest iteration for PlayStation. Said show would include the model’s look, pricing, and possibly even an expected release date for the new console as well.

But despite the claim being made last month for a suspected showing to arrive fairly soon, we still have yet to see any breaking details on the PlayStation 5. But according to Bloomberg Tech’s Jason Schreier, he stated that the alleged presentation would be taking place in “a few more weeks,” Schreier said in early May. Schreier later said to expect the event by sometime in early to mid June.

Now in a new statement made by Jeffrey Grubb, the supposed showcase is said to take place on June 3rd. On twitter, Grubb shared his schedule for upcoming gaming events paved for the next couple of weeks with an update reading “Soon – PlayStation event” between June 2 & June 3.

When questioned about the date for the unannounced show, Grubb and notable Twitter user @Wario64 go back and forth on the matter. When asking Grubb “before June 4?”, Grubb then responds by telling that the showcase will be “after June 2.”

Before jumping the gun to take this information as just conjecture to hype fans up for PlayStation 5 news, Grubb is recognized for his insider sources when it comes to details in the industry. Previously, Grubb has spared details regarding the continued rumor of Pikmin 3 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch stating that the game is on the way which corroborates with other accurate claims made prior.

Even more, Grubb was also the source for the Nintendo Direct mini that was hosted over a month ago following the handful of disputed claims saying it would come earlier. Follow suit, Grubb told that Nintendo is planning to shelf its coming June Direct that was planned for the now-cancelled E3. You can read the full report by heading here.

Do you think this might finally be the big break for PlayStation 5 fans?

PlayStation 5 is scheduled to ship sometime in holiday 2020.
