From the developers of the ongoing Darksiders series, Gunfire Games has also been busy with the upcoming story DLC for Remnant: From the Ashes. Dubbed Swamps of Corsus, this new title update would include a new setting for players to explore with a dozen new additions for interested players to return to the August-released title.

Although the news of the approaching expansion has been made back in March, today marks the official arrival of the anticipated downloadable content for the third-person, action-adventure title. Naming some of the apparent introductions to the game is the Corsus biome that is said to complement well alongside the pre-existing Adventure Mode; holding similarities to other large areas like Earth or Yaesha.

Players can also expect the addition of new gameplay experiences with more dungeons, enemies, and bosses present than ever before. What happens to be the largest addition with Swamps of Corsus is the Survival game mode. Giving players a push to run through the Remnant campaign once again, the new mode strips users of the luxuries of features like crafting and the freedom to enter the Labyrinth at anytime. Instead, players will have to act on their feet, manage their resources, and play strategically through each biome.

Seeping into multiplayer, players will not be granted the ability to trade gear discovered. Coordination is stated to be a key element if you decide to band together. Gunfire Games has also upped the difficulty ante with a new mode, Apocalypse. “Someone on the internet said that Nightmare Difficulty was too easy. Well then… enjoy the Apocalypse,” the developer comment reads.

Of course alike updates in general, there are a handful of game fixing adjustments and implemented features to ease the pain when playing Remnant. Aspects like auto-equipping modifications, bad luck protection, and UI redesigns have been applied with the new update shipping later today.

Before you step into Swamps of Corsus, make sure you read Rectify Gaming’s full review for Remnant: From the Ashes. David Rodriguez tells the game to offer a “unique world that Gunfire created really spoke to me, and the gameplay was such a refreshing change of pace from the usual assortment of bid budget triple-A games.”

What has you excited for the update arriving today?

Remnant: From the Ashes is out now for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4; Swamps of Corsus is currently out for PC running at $9.99.
