While many marketed titles from Microsoft almost appears to be unique releases for the platform, the bevy of those games that arrive to Xbox Game Pass on day one later surface on PlayStation eventually. Most recently, games such as Bloober Team’s The Medium shipped for PlayStation 5 and along with it cames solutions that even the Xbox Series versions are still without at the moment.
Another one on the way (not officially, yet) is The Ascent. From our review for the game,” The Ascent is a fantastic experience from start to end, with great characters, setting, and insane action.” Critic David Rodriguez adds, “The pacing is excellent, with plenty of time to breathe and take in the atmosphere between bouts of tactical explosive action.”
Recently, Gematsu spotted both the PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 rated for The Ascent via a Taiwanese Ratings Board.
As already stated, more titles originally showcased for Xbox hardware eventually makes its way to other platforms. That roster grows with titles such as Call of the Sea and the more recent announcement for Death’s Door from studio Acid Nerve. Even more, some marketed releases are even shipping at launch for the competing platform as well.
Namely being Chorus. Our time with the game shares, “the main story and the core gameplay and story were incredibly satisfying to experience. Nara and her story arc, the spells mixed with technology combat and the great visuals all come together to create a well paced homage to a long lost genre.
