The team over at Playground Games treated their active fans back in June with the sudden content drop introducing Lego to the racing sim which offers new cars, tracks, and a plastic-coated look to the game’s setting of Great Britain. Since then, however, major add-on expansions or content drops of that caliber has been released for the 2018 title. While this coming scheduled Series 17 update does reintroduce Toyota-branded vehicles to the series, nothing that might grab masses of attention has been shared, until now.

In a surprise announcement today, Playground Games announced that the team will be adding battle royale to the mix as soon as tomorrow. Revealing The Eliminator, pitting 72 players to race away from a closing zone if falling behind. Here is what the description reads for the approaching mode:

“The Eliminator invites up to 72 players to face-off within an arena set in the open world of Britain. Eliminating one another in head-to-head races to earn upgrades and a chance to pick up faster cars. Arena walls contract throughout the game, forcing players closer together until a final white-knuckle race among the survivors determines the winner.”

Other additions that will be included with tomorrow’s update for Forza Horizon 4 offer new challenges and events for the Festival Playlist as this month focuses on the Renault. As well as a bevy of new quick chat options centered around The Eliminator mode and some themed for the arrival of the 1998 Toyota Supra RZ.

Are you planning on returning to Forza Horizon 4 for the new battle royale mode?

Forza Horizon 4 is out now for Xbox One and Windows 10.
