The Killzone Warbond Officially Returns To Helldivers 2 Today

What felt like the impossible happened earlier this summer: Helldivers 2 launched on Xbox. What was touted as an experience only on PlayStation was transformed into an event with an Halo 3: ODST warbond also paired with the release. Since then, it was reported that Xbox users have been more engaged with Helldivers 2 than PlayStation.

Additionally, Helldivers 2 was even throned #1 on the Xbox Store upon its release for Xbox Series X|S back in August. All-in-all, the energy for the Helldivers IP is strong regardless of the platform and is showing to be a multiplatform success. With that, it only made sense when discovering a live-action film is on the way at PlayStation Productions. It was reported that Fast & Furious director Justin Lin is attached to direct.

Now this week, Sony Interactive Entertainment & Arrowhead Game Studios reveal that the notorious Killzone warbond is officially making a permanent return to Helldivers 2 today. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“Helldivers 2 x Killzone is back and this time, it’s back for good! It seems fitting that a year after their initial launch, we bring back this iconic content but now in a new and improved format and pricing – yes, we totally heard you all!” community manager Mitchell Ayre announces. “Along with our partners at Guerrilla, we’re pleased to announce Helldivers 2 x Killzone is now officially a Legendary Warbond*, costing 1500 Super Credits.” 

The blog post continues: “Players who have previously purchased any (even one) of the Killzone items, will have the whole Helldivers 2 x Killzone Legendary Warbond unlocked at no extra cost! Additionally, there is no medal vacuum here! The items previously purchased (and those which were gifted last December) will be medal unlocked. So no need to spend medals on the items you already own!”
