The PlayStation 5 Slim will require internet connection to pair Disc Drive

The PlayStation 5 Slim is arriving at stores worldwide preparing for its launch that looks to be on November 10, 2023 with the release of Modern Warfare III. We recently shared an image showcasing what the new PlayStation 5 box will look like compared to the original and the difference is noticeable.

Other people of started to share more of what’s on the box for the new PlayStation 5 Slim and there was an interesting catch. In small letters a part of the box says “Internet connection required to pair Disc Drive and PS5 console upon setup”.

When Sony announced the new PlayStation 5 design they said there would be a Detachable Disc Drive to purchase for owners of the Digital PS5, but did not mention anything about connecting to the internet. This is something that might be highly concerning if indeed that is the case.

We will have to wait and see what Sony says about this over the next few days.
