ps5 pro sale

The PlayStation 5 Pro is set to release in only a few days and since it was announced there has been speculation about if the cover plates are universal from the PS5 Slim released last year. The design of the PS5 Pro and last year’s Slim look similar with the plates separated from the middle unlike the original PlayStation 5.

However, there is a slight difference when it comes between these two PlayStation 5 consoles. It has been discovered that the PS5 Pro is not compatible with the PS5 Slim cover plates. A Reddit user who obtained the PS5 Pro console early tried to transfer purple cover plates and confirmed the top plates do not match and you cannot get them to connect.

The reason the top plates will not connect is because the teeth that connect to the system are in slightly different places.

New Cover Plates Are Coming For The PS5 Pro

Sony confirmed in a statement (Thanks IGN), “PS5 console covers are not compatible with PS5 Pro. However, players will be able to swap out different console covers for PS5 Pro when they become available in the future,” a PlayStation representative told the outlet.

The PlayStation 5 Pro packaging and game cases were leaked ahead of its release. The upgraded console will cost $699.99 and will be available online and at your local retailers on November 7.
