sega genesis nintendo switch online

Nintendo has continued to add to its Nintendo Switch Online libraries as of late. We have seen additions to SNES, NES, and the Game Boy libraries. Last night, it was announced that three Sega Genesis games have now been made available for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members.

Streets of Rage, Super Thunder Blade, and ESWAT: City Under Siege are the following Sega Genesis games now available on Switch. In order to start playing these games, players will just need to update their Sega Genesis app on the Nintendo Switch.

In other Nintendo-related news, the GameCube Virtual Console is finally coming to the Switch 2 on June 5, 2025, and there will be three games available at launch. Players can expect to play The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Soulcalibur 2, and F-Zero GX.

There will also be a Nintendo GameCube controller compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 available at launch that will include the C button. Nintendo mentions that the new retro controller is only capable of playing GameCube Classics.
