EA announced one of its new IP’s at EA Play today during their E3 conference, but it was not the Bioware Star Wars IP. Instead, it was a brand new co-op adventure designed by the team that brought you Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. It is called A Way Out and deals with prison break.
Only designed for split screen so you can once again enjoy multiplayer gaming the old-fashioned way, sitting next to a buddy on the couch, A Way Out is promised to be an emotional action adventure. You can also play online, but it is made to play personally besides someone else. Might be a good title for gaming couples, old friends, or people with kids looking for a way to spend time with them.
The narrative keeps you on your toes, offering a fresh, unique and compelling experience throughout. Get a unique look into the character’s personal lives and their driving motivations through their interaction with others as strong cinematic moments tie the plot together and propel the characters forward through their journey. What begins as a thrilling escape quickly turns into an emotional adventure unlike anything seen & played before. A Way Out is a two-player experience. Each player controls one of the main characters, working together to escape the prison and continue beyond into each character’s lives.
It is a game that explores the notion of trust, companionship and facing up to consequences. There is no release date available yet, but EA is said that the game will arrive on Xbox One in early 2018. There are two trailers released today, one official cinematic and the other gameplay, and you can see both below.
