Ubisoft Lays Out Year 1 Roadmap For Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed Shadows while met with strict criticisms has outshined many of those pushing back the game’s release. In its first month, the game has already recorded more than 3 million players. Additionally, the newest entry for the franchise is also ranked to being one of the best-selling titles for 2025 overall too. Our own reception also reflects the game’s performance as well.

Exploring the game after release, Ubisoft announces the Year 1 roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows with content set to roll out as soon as this month. You can watch the breakdown in the video below:

“We are planning free story drops which will include new abilities, new allies, new activities as well as flesh out some of the backstories of your fan-favorite characters that perhaps need a little more screen time,” associate game director Simon Lemay-Comtois says. “We have our first expansion, Claws of Awaji, coming later this year […] This expansion opens up the island of Awaji, a brand-new region for you to explore which continues the story of Naoe and Yasuke after Shadows’ epilogue ends.”

On the horizon for Assassin’s Creed Shadows alongside its content roadmap, Ubisoft appears to be preparing a new version for Nintendo Switch 2. The game was uncovered for a new rating via ESRB last month in April. You can read the full report by heading here.
