During Phil Spencer’s impromptu Q&A session on Twitter a few days ago, Microsoft Studios’ efforts with both Project Scorpio and the still-coming remake of Phantom Dust came up. We already discussed Spencer’s remarks about Project Scorpio’s progress and the likelihood of a sneak peak prior to its launch later this year. During this discussion, Shannon Loftis, the General Manager of Microsoft Studios, chimed in to give a worried fan that Phantom Dust, while not discussed often, is in fact still being actively worked on.

As Loftis reassures both this specific Twitter user and the rest of the Xbox gaming public, Phantom Dust is still very much under active development. She also speaks to the specific task at hand when she says that “It’s decent work to bring an original Xbox game forward, and we want to make sure it’s great.”
So, while we still don’t have even a tentative release date for the remake of Phantom Dust, we can prepare for a thorough and well-handled production of the original Xbox title.
