This month Nintendo is releasing The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom for Nintendo Switch and this weekend the game is playable at PAX West. Now that the public has been playing the game for a short period, they have been able to access its settings. It was revealed that Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will have a Normal difficulty, but also a Hero difficulty from the start.
What is Hero Difficulty?
Hero difficulty in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is essentially the ‘Hard’ difficulty. You will take Double Damage, Hearts won’t drop, and some accessories won’t work.

What is surprising to hardcore Zelda fans is that Hero difficulty normally wouldn’t be available at the start. Normally, you would have to complete one playthrough before unlocking the harder difficulty. It looks like this time around Nintendo decided to do something a little different.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom releases September 26, 2024, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
