For the past couple of weeks, there has been new discussions surfacing which disclosed that Sony aims to really seal the deal on its consumers for the upcoming PlayStation 5 as an upcoming State of Play presentation is claimed to take place the first week of August. In that, business analyst Roberto Serrano on Twitter told that the livestream would be held on August 6.

And it so happens that he was correct on the placement of the virtual show slated for this Thursday. However, the contents that many speculated – some with credible backings of prior claims – happened to be false, as insinuated from the statement made by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

In a new blog post, the firm discloses that the coming showcase will emphasize on projects slated for the PlayStation 4 in addition to what remains for the PlayStation VR as well.

And just to be super clear — there will be no PlayStation Studios updates in Thursday’s episode. There won’t be any updates around hardware, business, preorders, or dates either. On Thursday, our focus is squarely on showcasing some cool upcoming games coming to the broader PlayStation ecosystem.

In addition to what was told, some aspects of the PlayStation 5 is relayed to be spared during the presentation as well. With the topic on PlayStation VR, hopefully the firm will elaborate on how PlayStation 5 will incorporate the gaming peripheral; especially following the recent claim which tells that the Dualsense controller for the next-generation system will not support the VR headset.

As for the ambitious tales that were disclosed previously, those happen to be shrugged off following the latest statement. YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead claimed that his sources that were correct about the reboot for Playground Games’ Fable also dished out that the sequel for Santa Monica Studios’ God of War would be presented during this week’s show. But now collecting that there will be not first-party titles present, it is now deemed inaccurate.

What are you hoping to be presented during the coming PlayStation State of Play.

The State of Play will take place on August 6, 2020 at 1 PM PST / 4 PM EST.
