Given more than a year since the game’s announcement, fans that continue to follow Ubisoft Montreal’s Roller Champions are still patiently awaiting for the full release of the roller ball-centric title. Said to be Ubisoft’s answer to Fortnite and Rocket League, the publisher did issue that the game would arrive sometime in early 2021. And while details are still minimal, plenty continues to surface through the game’s community-centered program.

In September, the team issued the Blueprint Initiative which elaborated on a string of videos to answer fan questions and give insight on the current state of development. At the time, Close Alpha was still in session, but now more is to arrive, and to more platforms as well.

Coming from a new announcement on Wednesday, Ubisoft reveals that a Closed Beta will be taking place on February 17 to March 1. While only available in Europe, the closed playtest welcomes Xbox & PlayStation to the mix alongside cross-platform play. You can watch the development update video below:

Atop of the coupled news for the approaching closed beta, there is a new addition that is to be available for the first time: Skatepark. Similar to what we can find in Destiny, the Skatepark is a social hub where players can practice tricks, hang with friends, and even compete in timed challenges at certain parts of the day.

Of course, the game is also said to welcome Ranked which is to arrive on the second day of the closed beta. Other modes like custom match and limited-time events like 2v2 matches are also in order for Roller Champions. Ubisoft has plenty planned for its devoted player base as the title inches closer to launch. You can sign up for the closed playtest by heading here.
