Rewinding back to the 2017, Team Salvato alongside studio founder Dan Salvato released Doki Doki Literature Club. The anime-influenced interactive novel follows a group of girls as they operate their own titular book club at school. However, the craze for the title is most recognized for the disturbing turns within as you progress through the story when learning the truth under the façade from the group.

But, the singular PC release was not the only thing planned for Doki Doki Literature Club. In that, Dan Salvato previously announced that more content for the release is to come later on. But as days turns into months and further on, it felt that the promise would be come the impossible. But, that was until this Friday.

During IGN Summer of Gaming, Team Salvato alongside publisher Serenity Forge unveiled Doki Doki Literature Club Plus. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:

In addition to the game coming to consoles, including Xbox surprisingly, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is to include six new side stories, 13 additional music tracks, and 100+ unlockable pictures. Dan Salvato had this to say in the announcement post for concerned fans of the original release: “For existing fans of DDLC, we made sure that there’s more than enough new content to make DDLC Plus feel really new and exciting.

“But another thing I kept in mind is how much the original DDLC experience means to a lot of people. I know that there’s always a concern about re-releases or special editions having a whole bunch of changes to them, or the original content being tampered with in some way. So, we thoughtfully included all the new content in a way that ensures that the main game, Doki Doki Literature Club, is as authentic and true to the original as possible.”
