While PlayStation company Sony Interactive Entertainment remains to helm the video game industry with the performance of the PlayStation 4 and the runoff with the launch of the PlayStation 5, it should be noted how little press the firm has given in the last couple of years. For one, Sony has pulled out from E3 since 2019 and continued to even in 2021 currently.

However, the firm initially made the decision predating back to 2018 with the closing of PlayStation Experience (PSX). At the time, the firm told to be pulling the annual show held in Las Vegas to maintain expectations of its participants. Following the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man from Insomniac Games, Sony did not want to give false hope to future attendees.

Uncovered over on the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Sony has filed a new trademark for PSX. “Organizing, promoting, and conducting exhibitions and conferences for commercial purposes,” reads one identification segment of the trademark.

Arranging, organizing, and conducting exhibitions and conferences in the fields of entertainment and video games for non-business purposes and non-commercial purposes; Arranging and organizing online shows featuring video game playing and news; Entertainment services, namely, live performances featuring video game playing and news; Educational services, namely, conducting conferences, meeting, and networking events for professionals and consumers in the field of gaming; Entertainment services in the nature of providing news and information on current events and gaming via the internet, websites, podcasts, webcasts, webisodes, blogs, and videos.

So while Sony Interactive Entertainment remains dormant currently on any public shows currently, there appears to be the first sign of more PlayStation showcases to be held coming 2021 at the earliest. As of reporting, there is no indication as to when the firm will unveil the return of PSX or if it will be held this year.

Additionally, there is also hope for more Xbox events as well. The most recent show was held in London, England for X019 before the COVID-19 epidemic reshaped social gatherings. You can read the full report by heading here.
