While Naughty Dog remains content on its plans for the PlayStation 5, the firm has been busy nonetheless. This past year, we saw the release of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PlayStation 5 & PC alongside the more recent The Last of Us Part I on console with a desktop release coming next year also. Additionally, its Uncharted IP shook the box office with Sony Pictures deeming it a “new hit movie franchise”.

Looking ahead, it was confirmed that the PlayStation developer is working on “multiple game projects,” said co-President Neil Druckmann. Pertaining to what is a bigger question. This summer, it was shared that a new multiplayer game is in the works. Additionally, Naughty Dog did restructure its leadership which is a telltale trend for the game studio that a new project is underway.

According to TheLeak, it is claimed Uncharted is next on the menu for one of Naughty Dog’s big projects. In that, the IP is said to be facing a complete reboot. Noted, this is not the first we’ve heard of this. When The Last of Us was claimed to facing a remake, the Sony Interactive Entertainment Visual Arts team was originally pursuing Uncharted. But with the group now absorbed by Naughty Dog, it is possible this venture is being chased once more.

Regarding other hopeful ambitions, the Naughty Dog did dismantle hope on a new Jak & Daxter. Co-President Evan Wells told Video Game Chronicles he “wishes” the team was working on the franchise, but is occupied with other projects. A separate rumor on Twitter does point at Naught Dog already working on a third The Last of Us. When speaking to IGN last year, Druckmann said the script was already penned for the next game.

Looking ahead in the near future, The Last of Us on HBO Max is set to air this coming January. The television series starring Pedro Pascal (Wonder Woman 1084, The Madalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) is scheduled to hit streaming on January 15th.
