This past week, the industry was once again shaken by Nintendo with the launch for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. After six years of waiting, the game that launched the Nintendo Switch officially has a sequel. And according to the previous comparisons of the new installment to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it is a clear improvement over the 2017 title.

Additionally, Nintendo went on to reveal more products for the new game. This includes the special edition Nintendo Switch OLED Edition, Nintendo Switch Pro Controller & carrying case. Even more, the Japanese firm even suggested more post-launch content is also in the pipeline for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – in due time of course.

Now in a recent interview with series producer Eiji Aonuma, it was said that there is room to make Zelda a playable character in a new title. Currently, he shared that is is still uncertain how the gameplay for future games will look, but if it is appropriate to include her will answer fans’ requests.

“We feel like what takes most priority is this idea of gameplay. If it turns out that the particular gameplay we’re trying to bring to fruition would be best served by having Zelda take that role, then it’s possible that that could be a direction we could take. With that said, of course, because we are not sure what the next gameplay experience is going to be, we can’t say what Zelda’s next step is going to be.”

Recently, Aonuma also shared his interest in bringing The Legend of Zelda to the silver screen. When speaking with Polygon, he said: “I have to say, I am interested. For sure. But it’s not just me being interested in something that makes things happen, unfortunately.” You can read the full report by heading here.
