Backing up to April earlier this spring, fans were excited that a new Legend would finally becoming after the absence in Season 16. In that, Season 17 – Arsenal featured the newest addition with Thunderdome champion Ballistic making a comeback in the Apex Games. The new character featured the universe-coined Smart Pistol tactical and ‘Tempest’ ultimate to bring everyone’s A-game to the battle royale.
Additionally, Apex Legends officially branched into new territory with Glass Cannon Unplugged for the official board game. In that, the company launched the Kickstarter and it did not take long for the goal of $244,491 to be met. In-game, the recent ‘Dressed To Kill Collection Event’ introduced the long-awaited Horizon heirloom as well as fan-favorite limited-time mode ‘Armed and Dangerous’ hitting Storm Point then.
This week, Respawn Entertainment revealed the new ‘Neon Network Collection Event’ for Apex Legends which includes more refreshing content that has been missing from the battle royale for what felt like ages now. The event will go live from July 25th to August 8th. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
Starting today – July 21st until August 8th – players can explore a new story-fueled experience in-game, Kill Code: A Thief’s Bane. “After biding her time, Loba’s hunt continues. Become the wolf and enter her story yourself as you breach a facility that may have started the interruption to her childhood. With shady plot abound, you’ll work through an interactive introduction before entering the Battle Royale with a twist,” the overview reads.
Even more, there is a new reward node system that players can engage with in traditional battle royale to unlock new content – absolutely free. “Use a Node Tracker in non-ranked Battle Royale matches to detect, locate the optimal location to connect, and hack into leads across the map to receive loot and Compute Nodes. Be quick—the battle won’t pause for you to complete the hack. Compute Nodes will be awarded post match for you to use in the new event shop.”
It continues, “Our new event currency, Compute Nodes, puts the power in your hands. Choose what to unlock and when as you progress through the event. Bonus? Once all of the event skins have been unlocked, you can use your remaining Nodes to earn additional BP Stars to continue your seasonal progress. Challenges refresh daily and you can earn a limited amount of Compute Nodes per day.”
