
Transmedia is embedded into the DNA for Pokémon. Many fans first impression of the franchise is through the animated television series that came more than two decades ago now. And moving forward, there are new forms of release attached to Pokémon. Previously, we saw that the series would be launching a new show on Netflix.
The first season of Pokémon Concierge delivers a new take of the beloved series in a 3D animated medium that captures emotion and brushes on the gushing universe we all know. There was also the previous film ‘Pokémon Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution‘ – a remake of the classic 1998 Pokémon The First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back.
Now this week during the newest Pokémon Presents, Aardman shows a teaser for its upcoming claymation series – Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu. You can watch the teaser trailer in the video below:
“We have the pleasuring of partnering with Pokémon on an exciting new stop-motion animated series,” co-founder Peter Lord shares. “We’ll be putting some very special Pokémon front and center as the heroes of our show. And it will be set in a region which is very close to our hearts. It will give a unique look at the Pokémon world, told from the perspective of Pokémon.”
In the official press release, The Pokémon Company wrote: “Pokémon and Aardman have partnered to create a new stop-motion animated series offering a unique look into the Pokémon world with the signature Aardman sense of character, comedy, and craft. “
