This year, 2025, has remained perhaps one of the most engaging years for Minecraft. While the IP has remained a major influence in gaming for over a decade its been out, Minecraft especially in recent time has gained major traction. In the box office, the Warner Bros. film almost generated more than $1 billion. And, talks of a sequel are already underway for the video game adaptation.

Additionally, activity on Minecraft itself has also skyrocketed as well. Thanks to the boom at movie theaters, people are playing Minecraft more than ever. It was reported about a 75 percent boost in player engagement has resulted from the film. Not to mention this past summer was the addition of the ‘Chase the Skies’ Game Drop which effectively delivered the ultra graphics mode promised before the global pandemic.

Now this week, Minecraft is back with a new Game Drop. ‘The Copper Age’ is now live and as gathered from the title – it gives copper ore a whole new meaning. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:

“The Copper Age drop brings everything from handy tools and shiny armor to gleaming light sources, oxidizing decor, and smart storage solutions. Not to mention shelves and the lively mechanical companions known as copper golems. And as if that wasn’t enough, you can earn a copper cape by interacting with the new features in a three-part quest!” the Game Drop overview reads.

It also adds: “The one leading our path into The Copper Age is the copper golem. This organization-loving mob is player-made (plus comes with a copper chest!) and will help sort through your creative chaos while you decide what to display on your new shelf. It’s the perfect sidekick to keep you company as you experiment through all stages of oxidation in your next project.”
