Activision released a statement on Tuesday evening regarding its future plans after the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. In the message to fans, the company made it clear that they will no longer do back-to-back releases of Modern Warfare or Black Ops games.
There are a lot of reasons for this, but the main one is to ensure they provide a unique experience every year.
“We will drive innovation that is meaningful, not incremental. While we aren’t sharing those plans today, we look forward to doing so when the time is right.”
“Your continuing feedback will help shape our seasonal updates over the coming months. Season 01 is the largest live season ever and we’re just getting started. We won’t rest until Black Ops 7 earns its place as one of the best Black Ops games we’ve ever made.”
Next week, Activision is opening the doors for all players to jump into Black Ops 7 Multiplayer and Zombies for a free trial, and it’ll be a Double XP weekend.
There has been a lot of concern about the sales for Black Ops 7 since its release over a month ago. It was reported that sales fell short of their predecessor.
Are you surprised by the performance of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7?
