Forza Horizon 6 Reaches New Milestone, Hitting Most Played On Xbox Store Passing Call Of Duty

The release of Forza Horizon 6 reveals that Playground Games was able to recapture that lightning in a bottle for the series. Rectify Gaming in our review scored it a 10/10. “Forza Horizon 6 is not merely the best entry in the franchise. It is the ultimate realization of what the Horizon series has always wanted to become. […] Very few games manage to create memories this naturally.”

Leading up to its release, Forza Horizon 6 was already shattering records on Steam. During the Early Access release, It broke previous records held by the series already. Additionally, Playground Games shared that over 1 million players officially entered the Japan Festival as well in that same timeframe then across both PC & Xbox. 

Now following its welcoming to players fully, Forza Horizon 6 has created a new milestone which has not been surpassed since 2021. On the Xbox Store, Forza Horizon 6 surpassed Call of Duty in the ‘Most Played’ category. While the game did not achieve first nor is it the highest in terms of first-party titles, it is an impressive feat nonetheless as the last title to do that was Halo Infinite back in 2021.

What other milestones that Forza Horizon 6 has been able to achieve in its short release window thus far continues to surprise fans. Last week, Playground Games confirmed over six million players played Forza Horizon 6. Of course, this is cumulative including Xbox Game Pass. Shortly after, however, Forza Horizon 6 was also confirmed to sell over five million units also.

And yet again, another Steam record was broken as well this time after the full release. Now standing with an all-time concurrent player count over 273,000 players, Forza Horizon 6 is now regarded as the most played racing installment for any game of the genre on the platform.
