Minecraft 2 will officially be titled ‘A Minecraft Movie – Squared’

It has been made official. The Minecraft 2 movie will officially be titled ‘A Minecraft Movie – Squared’. In April, it was shared it would just be called ‘A Minecraft Sequel, but clearly that has changed.

A Minecraft Movie – Squared will come to theaters on July 23, 2027. The sequel is expected to perform well at the global box office just like A Minecraft Movie did in 2025, grossing $960.4 million worldwide during its theatrical run.

The film is going to feature Kirsten Dunst as Alex, and returning will be Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Jennifer Coolidge, and Danielle Brooks. Matt Berry is going to be in the film playing a character who dresses like Steve. Some speculate that he will be Herobrine.

2027 is going to be a huge year for video game adaptations. In the first half alone, we’ll see The Legend of Zelda movie and Sonic the Hedgehog 4 before we even get to A Minecraft Movie – Squared.
